The Weekend Edition
Whether it feels like spring outside or not, there is lots to see and do in San Marco this weekend.
Commune: The Knights of Columbus Friday Fish Fry tonight and every Friday night of Lent at 1501 Hendricks Avenue from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. The event is open to the public and all ages are welcome.
Celebrate: R.A.M. (Riverside Art Market) is opening for the year. Join the festivities starting at Balis Park. Saturday morning at 8:00 participate in the Walk2R.A.M. If walking is not your style, drive over to R.A.M and enjoy the parade, vendors and festivities.
Shop: The shops of San Marco are hosting Saturday in the Square from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Merchants will be offering sidewalk sales, giveaways, entertainment and more.
Play: Hendricks Avenue Baptist Baseball is in season. Saturday, games for midgets, minors, rookies and t-baller’s will be going on from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at the Hendricks Avenue Baptist Church baseball field. Our Leading Lady, by Charles Busch, at Theatre Jacksonville at 8:00 pm. Friday and 2:00 p.m. Saturday. The play is based on the real life story of Laura Keene, an actress performing at Ford Theatre the night President Lincoln was assassinated. According to some, she held the President’s head in her lap after he was shot.
