Jennifer Price Easterling, publisher of San Marco Magazine approached Jennie Szaltis about a cover that would support the San Marco Preservation Society Home Tour. The concept was one of entering through a welcoming open door of a traditional San Marco home filled with holiday love and joy . The garland across the top of the door and the light source on the steps is meant to draw the viewer into the home with a sense of warmth.
As the work progressed, SMPS President, Doug Skiles thought it would be appropriate to incorporate the San Marco lions to reinforce the San Marco theme, thus the statue at the door.
The homes renderings in the San Marco Magazine for the Home Tour were Jennifer’s idea as a substitute for photos. Jennie noted that “they were great fun to do as it gave me a break from the usual art work I produce. I did home renderings in college and during my Interior Design days so doing them was even a little nostalgic for me. San Marco is a very living and enthusiastic community. I was tickled to be able to have a part in supporting it.”
Jennie and her husband Ray have lived in San Marco area for 35 years and are very proud of the San Marco community. Additional information and examples of Jennie’s work can be found at www.jenniesgallery.com
