Bartram Students’ Poems Published, Earn National Accolades

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURESLast year, Bolles Lower School Whitehurst Campus Grade 5 students submitted poems to the 2015 America Library of Poetry student poetry contest. A group of 10 students, eight who are now Grade 6 students on the Middle School Bartram Campus, received recognition for their works and are now published poets in the “Eloquence: 2015 Poetry Collection” book

Through a generous purchase and book dedication from the Hunt Family, the book is now available in the Copeland Library. Each published poet from Bolles signed their name by their poem.

Published poets now on the Bartram campus include: Nilesh Patel ’22 (32258); Nicolas Adair ’22 (32223); Matthew McClure ’22 (32217); Ava Sickler ’22 (32217); Sophia Landy ’22 (32217); Ben McGraw ’22 (32207); Owen Landy ’22 (32217); and Lincoln Hunt ’22 (32224).

America Library of Poetry is based in San Diego and in Maine. The group is “dedicated to the expression of creativity through writing.” The student poetry contest is for students in grades 3-12 who are judged in four divisions, Grades 3-5, Grades 6-7, Grades 8-9 and Grades 10-12.
