Covid-19: Local thoughts & info

Nothing is more important to us than the health and well-being of our community. This would include the health of our local businesses as well. Please be considerate and conscientious, and support our neighbors and businesses however you are able. Noted below is information from some of our San Marco businesses as of 3/16/20

Wine and Chocolate Run – Rescheduled to October 10th. Thank you 1st Place Sports. Stay safe!

San Marco Books and More… As an independent bookstore, we are accustomed to thinking outside the box and getting creative when it comes to running our business. So, with the current unprecedented situation, we want you to know that we’re still here and ready to think creatively so that you can still get your books, cards and more.
We are still open Monday through Saturday, from 10 am to 6 pm. We’ll also take phone orders at 904-396-7597.
Order online and choose from In-Store delivery, which will include us bringing it to your car, or Delivery, and starting now, we’ll waive all shipping fees.
Things are changing every day, but people need books to help pass the time. To be honest, I’d much rather read a book than the news right now! So, if there’s anything we can do to help fill your free time, please let us know!

Thanks.
Jan, Mike, Desiree and Jamie

Definition Fitness

We are keeping a close eye on developments with the coronavirus and any impacts it will have locally. We will continue to train, and encourage you to stay in close communication with your trainer to be informed of any changes to the schedule. The cleanliness of the gym remains the highest priority. We may even take advantage of the beautiful San Marco neighborhood and move outdoors for some workouts!   If you prefer to practice social distancing or if you may have come in contact with someone who has symptoms and need to self-isolate, we don’t want your fitness to be neglected- so we have uploaded warm-up and cool down videos on our blog, as well as a list of 5 at-home workouts you can do without any equipment!   If you would like at-home workouts more customized to you, contact Melissa about online training!

Mayday Ice Cream –

To our Mayday Ice Cream fans,

I’m sure you’ve received many messages from different businesses about their plans for adapting to the coronavirus. We are endeavoring to stay open and serving our community and our local economy as best we can.

As the COVID-19 situation evolves, the safety of our team members and customers remains paramount. At this time, our shops are open for business and we want everyone to feel safe and comfortable during your visit. Gloves will be used by our employees when scooping your ice cream, as well as handling credit cards or cash payments. In addition to our usual ServeSafe guidelines for food safety, our teams are also heavily sanitizing all surfaces, including tables and counter tops, between each customer interaction. Our staff has also been advised to stay home if they have any health concerns or are feeling under the weather.

We are watching for CDC and local government updates constantly and will continue to review our policies and procedures with the aim of strengthening our COVID-19 response to further align with updated public health advice and guidelines. This includes promoting hand-washing and healthy hygiene practices among our community of team members and guests.

We hope you all are staying healthy and safe, and hope we can brighten your day during this stressful time with some comforting ice cream.

Your friends,

Mayday Handcrafted Ice Creams

Groomingdales
Dear clients,

Groomingdales Dog Salon takes the health of our pet parents, our loved ones, and ourselves VERY seriously.

I am writing this to address the concern and current state of affairs with COVID-19. I will be open for normal business hours until further notice.

We have always had a strict cleaning protocol in place but will be taking extra measures to ensure we do catch or spread this virus.

•All payments will be done either by phone or emailed invoice.
•Please be prepared to take your pets leashes and collars home – I will use a slip lead once they are inside the shop.
•Please use the hand sanitizer on the counter.

I do ask that any clients with symptoms of the illness, anyone who has been exposed, or anyone who has traveled in the last two weeks to please reschedule your appointment for two weeks from now.

I have waived our cancellation policy but do ask for notice if you cannot come or choose to quarantine yourself. However, our no call no show policy will remain. So please let me know! As a small business, I rely on clients showing for income, not just for the shop but personal as well.

Thank you for your understanding 💕
Morgan
